McCarthy Netball Tournament 2026

Kia ora e te whanau

We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of our two Puketawa Marae Netball teams that proudly represented our community at the highly anticipated 2026 McCarthy Netball Tournament, a whanau friendly event that showcases not just skill but also the spirit of camaraderie and competition.

The two teams, made up of dedicated whanau members who traveled from both near and far, came together with a shared passion for the game and a commitment to representing Puketawa Marae with pride. Over the course of the weekend, their hard work, determination, and teamwork paid off, culminating in the fantastic achievement of securing two prestigious trophies, which serve as a testament to their efforts and whanaungatanga.

• Uniform Trophy: Puketawa Marae (Yaya Green Tutus)

• Sportsmanship Trophy: Puketawa Kanuka (Rangatahi) - The Puketawa Kanuka team of rangatahi earned the Sportsmanship Trophy for their exemplary behavior, respect, and fair play, embodying sportsmanship values.

Well done to our two teams, their supporters and our whanau who work hard to organise local competitions like the McCarthy Netball Tournament.
